There are any number of things that could be delaying Mike and Caleb. Hell, once they were reunited, they probably just forgot all about me and headed home. Mike had told me he had some family and farm land in North Carolina that he was going to take Caleb to once they were back together. They are probably on their way there now with all memories of me completely replaced by thoughts of how they are going to spend their time together when they get to that farm.
I bet that is exactly what happened. I better start preparing to take off myself. My leg is much better. The scratch on my face is healing and I have a son of my own waiting for me in Jacksonville.

Who am I kidding? I have to go to the library and check on them. I’m tired of running away from the choices I have made.
