We had to back track a little to get around the chaperone’s roadblock. We exited the interstate and continued north until we bypassed the roadblock and merged back onto the interstate.
While we were on the back roads we came across a pharmacy. Brenda wanted to stop and stock up on some first aid supplies. I offered her my shotgun but she wouldn’t take it. She said she didn’t know how to use it and I would be better off with it. I figured she just didn’t want to get her hands dirty.
Once we got into the pharmacy Brenda headed for the drug counter. She said she would only be a minute and suggested I scout around for other supplies while I waited.
I was raiding the canned goods when I heard the crash. As I ran toward the sound I heard several wet thuds. When I got to Brenda she was standing over a zombie with an aluminum bat in her hand. There was a bloody mass of pulp where the zombies head used to be. The rest of its head was dripping from Brenda’s bat. She just smiled at me and said that as soon as she got done washing up in the bathroom we could go.
So much for not getting her hands dirty. I need to remember to tell her about the concentrated zombie juice.
…
She never even screamed. Not once while the whole incident was occurring. She is either one tough chick or crazy. Maybe a little bit of both.
