Week 25: A Plan Emerges

Okay, I’ve got it.  Brenda and I are going to split up.  Looking at my map, north of Santee there is a large lake that I-95 crosses.  Instead of going through Santee and crossing on the I-95 bridge Brenda is going to travel west around the lake while I travel east around it.  I mean let’s face it, it is probably not a good idea to cross a long ass bridge with all these zombies around anyway.

Anyway, if we split up Mike can only follow one of us, and we both know that will be me.  Once Brenda and I navigate around the lake we will both head back to I-95 just north of the bridge in a town called Summerton. I’ll enter the town and set up a safe house to stay in.  Brenda will remain on the outskirts of town and scout around for Mike and Matthew.  With any luck she may find him while he is spying on me.

Tomorrow I will find Brenda a vehicle and fix it up for her leg of the trip.  I will also find some good walkie talkies we can use to stay in touch.  They won’t be much use while we are traveling around the lake, but hopefully we will be able to pick up each other’s signal once we make it to Summerton. 

Our backup plan will be to meet at the intersection of Main St. and Church St. each night just after dark if the walkies prove to be useless.  Mike might see us and our plan may be ruined if it comes to this, but I can’t think of a better way for Brenda to let me know that she is okay.

All of this is still assuming that Mike is following us and not already relaxing on his ranch in North Carolina.
