Week 30: Back to the Undead

I must admit it was nice to not have to worry about zombies for awhile. That was the one good thing about St. Matthews. But they are back in full force now. The summer heat has them running around at full speed and clawing at anything that moves.

I think the heat is changing the zombies in other ways, too. Aside from just being faster, they seem smarter. Relatively speaking. I have seen them open doors and when they come after us it is no longer a straight on charge. They disperse and try to surround us.

And their moaning. The moaning has changed. It is no longer slow and methodical but now more irregular and closer to a grunt. Like they are trying to mimic human speech.

Is there any hope for Matthew in this environment? All alone with zombies like this? I try not to think about it but it invades my mind over and over again. He’s only thirteen. Matthew is a smart kid but…

God please look after him. Maria please watch over our son.

Evolving zombies! Crazy! I hope you don't run into any Tanks, Witches, or Smokers!
