Week 45: Acceptance

Alright, I guess I don’t have much of a choice. Maybe I can lead Jonas away, deal with him somehow, and return back for Matthew. I just know I can’t watch Matthew go hungry again. Not to mention the thirty other people living on this boat. I told Tom I would be ready in the morning. They will have the life boat loaded up and ready to go. It has a small outboard motor on it and they will have some gas for me as well.

I decided it would be best if Brenda and Matthew just thought I was going for supplies, not going to lead Jonas away. They would want to come with me if they knew the truth. Hell, they’ll still want to come with me, but at least this way it will be easier to get them to stay.

My only fear is that Jonas won’t follow. I’m not sure leaving secretly, then letting Tom tell Jonas I left is such a good idea. What if Jonas doesn’t leave? Maybe I should tell Jonas myself right before I hop in the boat and take off. Tell Jonas if he wants to finish this, then he’ll have to meet me in Pensacola.

Of course then Brenda and Matthew will probably figure out that I am not just going for supplies. Last thing I want is to go through this and not have the horde move on, though. I need to make sure Jonas and his horde follows me.

Wow! I never thought he would willingly leave Matthew behind!
As always, I'm eagerly watching daily for updates.

It was not an easy decision, I'm sure. We'll have to see what happens.
