We found a dock to spend the night which seemed pretty secure. It had a shed at the end that gave us some shelter to sleep in. It has been pretty cold the last couple of days, especially at night.
I suggested we go and stay at the house that the dock belonged to. Brenda thought it was too risky and didn’t want to have to waste what supplies we had. We were able to snag some food and blankets and stuff before we left the battleship, but we only had one gun and ammo was scarce.
…
In the morning Brenda was still sleeping so I decided to check the house out and see if there were any weapons or something for us to take. If we are going to rescue you, Dad, a gun and a few bullets ain’t going to cut it.
And it’s a good thing I did, because I found some Ramen Noodles, an axe, and a good quality flashlight with good batteries. Everything was fine until I opened the door to one of the bedrooms.
The room was a nursery with a cradle and everything, but I didn’t see the baby. I didn’t really look for it, though, you know. I didn’t want to see it if it was there. So I tried not to look in the crib. But I was so focused on not looking in the crib that I didn’t see the two zombies, a man and a woman coming out of the corner. I think they might have been husband and wife, maybe the parents.
Anyway, I was just about to take care of the two zombies with the axe I found. It was cold, so they were just slumbering along real slow. Then Brenda busts in and all pulls me out of the way. She proceeded to bash their heads in with her baseball bat.
When it was over she just smiled at me and told me “good work”.
…
Okay so truth is I was scared stiff when the zombies attacked me. I literally couldn’t even move. Brenda saved my life. I read about how you have “feelings” for her. I’m not sure… I don’t know what to make of that, but… I guess I still like Brenda, regardless.
