Week 17: Brenda in Tow

With a two day head start, I think it is doubtful I will pick up Mike’s trail for awhile anyway. I just need to concentrate on gaining ground for now. Plus, I think I roughly know where Mike is headed anyway.

Mike had mentioned family and farmland in North Carolina, somewhere south of Raleigh. That was where he was going to take Caleb. I’m betting that is where he is headed with Matthew.

I left the safe zone, got my van back, loaded it up and headed off. There I was driving up I-95 when a voice out of the back asked me what the plan was. I nearly ran off the road.

Seems after I finished loading the van Brenda somehow managed to slip into the back. Not sure how she accomplished it and I am not sure how I managed to drive for about 15 minutes without noticing her. I guess I’ve got a lot on my mind.

Brenda is the lady that told me which way Mike had gone. She is the one who wanted to help me find my son. She is a nurse. Apparently she is also someone who does not take no for an answer.

Hell, I guess having a nurse around can’t be a bad thing.

Yes!
Something good for our narrator, even if he doesn't realize it yet. I'm sure he'll be happy to have Brenda around later.
