The Savannah Coalition has set up shop in downtown Savannah. I don't claim to know a lot about the city's history but I do know that it was built on a grid and at the intersecting points of that grid there are these little square parks. Back in the Civil War days these squares were used as outposts for soldiers and cannons. They gave the army clear views to the north, south, east and west from each square. If enemies were invading the city the home team would have a clear shot at the visitors regardless of which direction they came from.
In the post-zombie apocalypse world we now live in not much has changed from those Civil War days. The Savannah Coalition has fortified each square with fire power in every direction. And they make use of any weapon, no matter how antiquated. They even raided the historic forts and museums for weaponry. I mean they have freaking antique cannons in use. Black iron cannons with cannonballs. It's like I took a step back in time.
Justin gave me a tour while we waited for some of his soldiers to find me supplies and load up my van. I am not sure what to make of the Savannah Coalition's plans. When zombies attack all the soldiers take up positions at each of the squares. The civilians are to lock themselves in their houses and remain out of sight. I guess the idea is that when the zombies invade they will be attracted to all the soldiers and fresh meat manning the posts and leave the houses alone. Meanwhile the soldiers blast the zombies with everything they got and hope that it is enough. Sounds like a suicide mission to me but apparently it has worked for them so far.

While we were waiting for gas to arrive for my van, one of the Savannah Coalition scouts returned. Sounds like there is a massive horde of zombies approaching the city. I will get to see first hand how the Savannah Coalition's defense network works.
