Brenda’s condition has continued to deteriorate. She is weak and in pain all over. Nausea and fever have become commonplace and I have to keep her drinking a steady supply of water because she is spewing from both ends.
As she hit her breaking point Brenda finally confessed to me that she is suffering from the withdrawal symptoms of her pain killer addiction.
I guess she has been stopping at all these pharmacies in order to replenish her supply of OxyContin. The last one we stopped at was all out and she was afraid I would not let her stop at another one right away so she used the zombie attack as an opportunity to run off to find another pharmacy to raid. The one I found her in was the third pharmacy she had tried. Apparently there are other addicts out there that have been stocking up as well.
I guess I should have seen the signs but I didn’t. And it makes perfect sense, I mean look at the world we are living in. Look at our quality of life. Not to mention the only man she cares about won’t return her feelings because he is determined to remain faithful to his dead wife.
I guess the biggest surprise is that I don’t have a drug addiction.

Awesome direction with this plot Simon. Never saw this coming. That's what makes the story so good and your writing so awesome. You have a total gift.
Thanks, both of you. Glad I can keep it interesting. Now if I can just find those zombie loving movie producers.
