Brenda understands that she has to kick this addiction. In fact she had been weaning herself from it over the past few weeks; that is, until she completely ran out.
These past few days I have been given a lesson in OxyContin withdrawal. First rule is you do not want to stop abruptly. Second rule is YOU DO NOT WANT TO STOP ABRUPTLY!
Next lesson begins today. I have to find some pills for Brenda to help take the edge off, enough to at least get her mobile again. I do this under the agreement that we have an established treatment plan and schedule to reduce usage over time. Oh, and I maintain control of the pills.
So now I have a shopping list of acceptable pills. Basically anything with oxycodone in it but some of the name brands are OxyContin, Percocet, Percodan and Tylox. Hopefully I don’t have to travel too far to find some of these.
