Week 23: The Trouble with Pharmacies

Wow, someone has been hitting these pharmacies pretty hard. I have visited four of them and even ventured into the neighboring city. In each one the painkillers have been cleaned out.

I am going to search for a few more before I head back to Brenda. I don’t think I can bear returning to her empty handed. I have already seen her suffer enough.

Luckily the last pharmacy I hit had been infiltrated by zombies. I say lucky, because the zombies must have caught our pill thief by surprise. The shelves in the painkiller section where knocked over and there were a handful of random pills that the thief left behind. Unfortunately I have no way of knowing what any of the pills are. I can only hope that Brenda may recognize something useful in the batch that I bring her.

If there are not enough painkillers in this batch of pills (or God forbid there are none) then I will have to consider looking other places. Pharmacies are just too easy to break into and usually don’t have many zombies hanging around them.

I am trying to avoid it, but my best option may be searching a hospital. The reasons I am trying to avoid hospitals are also the same reasons that it is likely a hospital will still have a supply of pain killers. For one, hospitals are big and will take some time to explore. Secondly, the pills are likely locked up in a more secure environment. And finally, the hospitals are breeding grounds for zombies and are most likely overrun with meat puppets.

But I may have no choice. I can’t watch Brenda suffer like this.
