We arrived at St. Matthews today. The town is small, but there appears to be a good sized group of survivors who have banded together here and tried to fortify a portion of St. Matthews from the zombies.
The fortified bit is located on the north west corner of the main intersection of town. They took about two blocks, dug a pretty deep trench around it and then constructed a wall along the interior perimeter. It is nothing like what I saw in Jacksonville, but it looks pretty well done.
Within the safe zone they have what looks like a grocery store, a three story building that looks like a bank main office, a small strip mall, and a small park. Oh and probably the most important to them, the town water tower.
We haven’t approached the settlement yet. I have just been scouting around it for now. I am uneasy when it comes to approaching places like this. There doesn’t appear to be any army or government presence here. Who knows who is in charge and how they will treat outsiders. If things turn bad, the numbers are definitely against us.
But there is a chance that Matthew came here, so I will have to try.
