Week 33: Prelude to an Ambush

We are moving toward I-20 at a decent pace again, which means I will have to figure out what I want to do about the leader and his gang pretty soon.

The obvious answer seems to be we just set up an ambush. I mean, the leader is blindly following us as we make our way up I-26. An ambush seems like an easy way to get the drop on him.

It also seems like something the leader would probably be watching out for. Assuming the leader has any sense.

So then, if I were the leader how would I thwart an ambush? Scout ahead? Not counting his bus load of carriers, the leader only had two other guys with him so sending out a scout would seriously deplete his bodyguards. Unless he already sent out a scout before I came across their camp.

Damn, that is a serious possibility. Only bringing two guards with you seems like a dumb idea. Maybe he had more and I didn’t see them because while I was spying on them, they were spying on us.

Shit!
