Well I have to give the country folks credit for being polite and helpful. We came across a young man and his grandparents just as night was setting in. They offered to let us stay in the safety of their farm for the night. Even fed us a home cooked meal.
Matthew devoured it, then had seconds, and probably would have had thirds if he thought he could get away with it. The poor kid probably hasn’t had anything of substance to eat for God knows how long; probably before this whole epidemic started.
I must admit I had two helpings myself. Chicken and dumplings. Best damn thing I ever ate.
