Week 42: Put in his Place

Harold came around again and I wound up kicking his ass. Yup, Mr. Army scientist is nothing but a big wimp. Okay maybe I just punched him once but it was a good punch and he was so stunned he did not retaliate.

Basically when we stopped again he came up questioning Harvey so I walked over and told him to leave the boy alone. When Harold didn’t listen I walked straight over and punched him in the face. Knocked him right on his ass.

Harold looked up at me like a wounded pup with his eyes all glassy. After a few seconds he kind of stuttered, “What the fuck?”

I said, “I’m tired of you harassing that poor kid. His grandmother just died not too long ago and the last thing Harvey needs is someone like you asking him all these random and cryptic questions. You want to follow along with us? That’s fine. But if you want to interact with any of us you come talk to me first. Is that understood?”

Harold got the message. He apologized, had some excuse about having a one track mind, then got back on his ATV and waited for us to pack up and leave.

That was it. From then on Harold has been following along with us but has kept to himself. I think I scored some brownie point with Harvey though. The kid has been talking a bit more to me and I can tell he is trying extra hard to help out.
