Week 43: Small Miracles

I have no idea where we are but judging from the seagulls overhead we must be nearing the coast. And it seems we might be approaching a fair sized city to boot. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or not. The chance of finding food increases, but so does the number of zombies.

I guess we don’t have much of a choice.

Finally we have had some luck. Just as we entered the city we found a gas station with an attached restaurant. It looked like salvation to our starving bellies. It didn’t matter that there were about 10 zombies already infesting the place. It didn’t matter that we only had a few weapons and limited ammo. It didn’t even matter that we hadn’t eaten or slept in days.

It is amazing what you can do when you are desperate.

We tried to refrain from using ammo as much as possible and relied mostly on our melee weapons; me with my machete and Brenda with her bat. Matthew ran around distracting the meat puppets while Brenda and I picked them off one at a time. Apparently we were hungrier than they were because we made short work of those zombies with hardly any trouble.

Inside we found a good stash of various canned goods and lots of junk food. Outside one of the tanks still had gas in it and we were able to siphon more than enough to get us to the coast. Only problem is what do we do once we get there.

Oh yeah, and judging from the local maps we found inside the gas station we are entering Mobile, Alabama. I guess we overshot Tallahassee by a few hundred miles.

so has this infestation hit the worldwide level yet? or is it still just in the U.S? And for that matter, is it still contained in the southeast?

Yes indeed it is most likely worldwide, although our narrator only knows about what is happening in the southeast.
