Week 2: First Sighting

I saw my first zombie around this day. Actually there were four of them. I didn’t know they were zombies at the time, but I knew something wasn’t right about them.

It was late at night and they had set off a car alarm. I got up and looked out the bedroom window to see what was going on. At first it looked like a group of drunken college students stumbling down the road. In fact one of my neighbors opened their front door and yelled at them to “keep it down”. As the small group approached him, they emerged into the light of a street lamp.

Fortunately, I could not see much detail from where I was. I remember one of them appeared to be in red stained pajamas and another one had an odd bend in his left arm. Really it was my neighbor’s reaction that freaked me out the most. My neighbor got a good look at them. His jaw dropped, his skin went white and he immediately slammed the door. I went back to bed and held my wife close.

She asked me what was going on. I told her it was just some drunken kids. I told her it was nothing to worry about. I told her everything was going to be fine. I lied.

As I lay in bed I could hear them methodically banging on my neighbors door. It continued until about four a.m. when an ambulance showed up and “escorted” them away. I couldn’t help but to take another look out the window. The EMT’s all had on hazmat suits.

Glad you like it. I think Chad did a great job. I hope to have at least one illustration a month. Maybe a feature artist each month or something like that.

I'm already VERY interested in the story line and I love how the plot is unfolding. I loved the artwork you put in and the great song clip (good choice!) I can already see the movie playing out in my head. If indeed you do make a film, PLEASE let me write a song for it!!

Thanks a lot for the comment. I try to pick songs that are fitting but not too cliché. As far as the artwork goes, I should hopefully have another piece for one of the February posts, but my friend (the artist) is a little busy right now, so I’m not sure when I will get it.

Regarding movies, I’m no film maker, but if someone else wants to make a movie based on it, I’ll try to pull some strings and get you on the soundtrack. :)

Haha, that would be so awesome!! Thank you, and don't forget me now lol. If I ever come across a producer/director I will let him know about you. Maybe Tarantino is up to it... ;)
