Week 5: A Scooter, a Scooter, My Kingdom for a Scooter

The house is locked tight and I got my gear together for the road. I just need one last thing before I leave; a scooter. Figure it is the best way to travel quickly while being able to maneuver around abandoned vehicles and such. Zombies move like mimes stuck in slow-mo so they shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I know a family down the street that had one; used to see their teenager driving it around all the time. I’m going to see if I can “acquire” it from them. Hopefully they have gone and abandoned the scooter.

The family was still there and so was the scooter. Apparently money is useless and we are back to the barter system. And it is also apparent that I suck at the barter system. For the scooter I had to trade my generator, two flashlights, a box of batteries and half the gasoline I had salvaged for the trip.

I did manage to work in a condition that if I return the scooter I get the generator back. I should probably feel uneasy by the way they all laughed before agreeing to that term but I’ll take what I can get.
