There is no God. Not anymore.
I say this not because of the epidemic that has spread across the world killing millions. Not because an attempt to save myself resulted in the deaths of at least 6 innocent people. Not because of what happened to poor Caleb. Not even because the only woman I ever loved died suffering then came back to life so that I was forced to kill her again.
In fact it has nothing to do with anyone who has died but instead because of who is still alive… Mike Grainger. He beat me to Jacksonville and he took my son.
There is no God but I believe there is a devil and right now he has my son.

wait so he didn't kill himself?
No he did not. We only heard two gunshots and assumed. And unfortunately for our narrator that assumption was wrong.
Whoa...intense entry. WRITE FASTER!! lol
I did not see this coming at all.. not that I've been able to predict much of anything, but this one shocked me. Good luck.
Very nice. I wasn't expecting this and I was wondering what you were going to do being so close to the ultimate story goal.
Wow, neat. Another wicked twist in the story. So Mike Grainger is not dead and his threat is coming true. In Week 13: The Chaperone, Posted March 31 Mike told the narrator "Everything is going to be alright for your sake it better be." So we see now that Mike is keeping his word with the threat and now seems to have Matthew. This could go badly now for the narrator and the boy. I can't wait to read the next post. You are creating an awesome plot. Love it.
Thanks everyone, glad you like the twist. You are exactly right, Sandy, Mike is making good on his promise. We'll have to see how this pans out. ;)
The title almost scared me away from reading this entry for fear of finding out that Matthew was dead or infected.
